My Role
Department head
I joined MediaMarkt as a sales associate and advanced rapidly through the organization. Within three months, I became Assistant Department Manager; six months later, I was promoted to Department Manager, and another six months after that, I was leading two departments simultaneously. At peak, I managed a team of around 40 people.
During my tenure, we significantly improved sales performance by transforming one-time buyers into long-term customers. I focused on building relationships and trust, turning the department into a place people returned to not just to buy, but to seek advice. I designed and launched a closed community for photography enthusiasts—a photo club with events, workshops, and special campaigns—creating loyalty and consistent repeat business.
I also built partnerships with major vendors and led several high-impact deals. Notably, I became the first to officially introduce and sell Leica cameras in Russia through our store, alongside closing multiple large agreements with top manufacturers.
Throughout my time at MediaMarkt, I demonstrated strong leadership, commercial thinking, and execution ability—achieving measurable financial results and earning rapid career growth in a highly competitive retail environment.
